Festivals, art & community celebrations
Terrace boasts several community-based outdoor events and festivals throughout the year. Our biggest annual event is Riverboat Days, a 10-day festival featuring dozens of activities, including a parade, outdoor concerts, and more. Many of our events are free to attend and can be enjoyed by all ages and offer something for everyone’s taste.
Riverboat Days
Starting the August long weekend, Riverboat Days is the largest community festival in northwest BC, highlighting the culture and heritage of the area. There’s a huge variety of events, from interpretive walks, to sports tournaments, to live music and smore. Don’t forget Music in the Park and rock out with the whole community.

The Skeena Salmon Arts Festival celebrates salmon through public art, including murals, sculptures, carvings, banners, and more. It also hosts an annual art exhibit at the Terrace Art Gallery in August during Riverboat Days. This open and juried exhibit of regional artists celebrates salmon and place.

The annual Farm Fest at Hidden Acres Treehouse Resort is a one-day celebration of regional live music, local artisans, BBQ and beer. A family-friendly event featuring 12 live music acts from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Take in some of the region’s most talented musicians while enjoying craft beer from regional microbreweries.

Valhalla Fest is a community, brought together by the love of electronic music, art, dance and love. It takes place over the weekend of the summer solstice in Terrace, BC. Rocking the most powerful beats in the North, the festival is fast becoming a one-of-a-kind experience you can only have here.

The Pacific Northwest Music Festival has been a major annual event in Terrace for more than 50 years. This competitive festival affiliated with Music Fest Canada celebrates dance, speech arts, theatre, music and more. Participants benefit from adjudications for each discipline. With a view to provide guidance on improvement, in addition to scoring for the competition side.

Skeena Wild Film Festival celebrates shines the light on original short films, features, youth films, and photographs submitted by Northern B.C. residents and people from around the world. Culminating an incredible melting pot of stories, visions and perspectives that shines a light on the wonder of the Skeena Watershed.

Sima Festival is a celebration of winter focused on reflecting, redefining and fostering the individual and collective relationship with the environment. Centred on building community during the year’s darkest months through art, outdoor recreation, education, conversations and music.
